Valentina Fin Trio "TUMIZA" is a research project of the singer Valentina Fin, born as a follow-up of her final thesis work. The meeting with Norma Winstone in 2015 was the source of inspiration to structure a musical project, Tumiza, which is based on the historic trio of the singer with John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler entitled Azimuth, which read in reverse gives Tumiza.

Sumptuous and ethereal at the same time, Norma Winstone is able to capture the soul of music, giving the listener a pure sound, without selfishness. Just this is the sound researched by the trio, which proposes some songs written by the great contemporary jazz composers such as Fred Hersch, Kenny Wheeler, Steve Swallow and some original compositions written and arranged by the trio.

The debut album was released for Emme Record Label in May 2019.

The trio won the first prize at Barga Jazz Contest 2020 and the Targa Luca Flores as best soloist and performed for Sibiu Jazz Contest in Romania, winning again the prize for best soloist.

The line-up, expanded up to the sextet, is currently composing and improvising new music around the artist's life manifesto of the Serbian performer Marina Abramovich.
